I’ve always leaned into the creative heart of the business, shaping Eberjey’s design language and visual identity from its earliest days. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with our talented teams to dream up new collections, develop color stories, refine silhouettes, and explore innovative fabrics and fibers all with an eye toward comfort, beauty, and authenticity.
One of my greatest lessons has been learning to balance creativity with practicality — to honor the spark while also building something sustainable. Finding that harmony between vision, viability, and softness has been both the challenge and the reward.

THE ART OF EMBRACING YOUR SOFTER SIDE
BEHIND THE SCENES
Co-Founder of Eberjey
I co-founded Eberjey with the dream of creating something softer — not just in fabric, but in spirit. Over the years, I’ve helped grow the brand into a global sleepwear company, carried in over 500 retailers including Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Selfridge’s UK, as well as five Eberjey stores.
My heart has always been in the creative. From shaping early collections to guiding the brand’s visual voice, I’ve poured myself into designing products that make women feel beautiful, comfortable, and at home in their own skin. Today, I continue to support Eberjey’s creative evolution while also focusing on projects that allow me to tell stories, mentor young creatives, and give back through philanthropic work — including a children’s book series and initiatives close to my heart.

As children, we all have that special place where our imaginations run wild, our dreams take flight, and our hearts feel safe. In those magical corners of make-believe, we become explorers, adventurers, dream-weavers, free to embrace the boundless wonder within. These sacred spaces, tucked away in the corners of our minds, often hold the key to who we are and who we’re meant to become.
For me, that place was my closet, a tiny sanctuary where creativity bloomed and dreams covered the walls. Surrounded by photographs from my early life in El Salvador, fashion magazine tear sheets, letters, books, and family mementos, I let my imagination unfurl.
I’d slip into my coziest pajamas, close the door behind me, and disappear for hours—writing, doodling, dreaming. That’s where my love for pajamas began: their soft embrace became a symbol of comfort, creativity, and quiet joy.
My fascination with sleepwear began around age nine when I discovered my mother’s meticulously curated collection of exquisite European nightgowns and lingerie. Playing dress up in her silk embroidered nightdresses and glamorous robes became my favorite pastime.
I became so obsessed with sleepwear that I asked for it for every birthday. I began collecting pajamas which I would then transform into pieces uniquely my own. With the skilled hands of a trusted seamstress, Graciela, those pajamas became a canvas for my creativity, reimagined and fitting perfectly, just for me.
Rooted deeply in my Latin American heritage, my mother and grandmother introduced me to the language of beautiful sleepwear. Wearing their elegantly coordinated three-piece sets- nightgown, robe and slippers- my mother and grandmother celebrated the essence of special occasions and the beauty of the everyday, creating a poignant narrative of memories and emotions that would thoroughly shape my journey.
Running warm baths for me and laying out fresh, crisp pairs of pajamas was my mother’s cherished tradition, echoing a ritual her own mother had handed to her. It was in those small but significant moments that I learned the importance of comfort, beauty, and the intimate connection between clothing and our sense of self.
My cherished memories, the deep love for my family, and the profound connection to the comfort of pajamas are the threads that have created the fabric of my life's work.
They inspire me every day to embrace creativity and authenticity.
Now, through books and creativity workshops, I will focus on sharing the journey of how I gave shape to my entrepreneurial dreams and hopefully inspire others to bring their own creative ideas and projects to life.
As I ventured off to university with my treasured pajamas in tow, I was dismayed to discover that nobody else cared for pretty pjs. But that disappointment revealed the opportunity and there, in my dorm room, I had my AHA moment: I would create a line of beautiful sleepwear that allowed women to feel authentically themselves.
After graduation, instead of pursuing pjs, I followed the bandwagon to Wall Street, putting my pajama dream on hold. But the striving for conventional success quickly left me unfulfilled.
My soul yearned for authenticity and creativity, urging me to embark on a new path- one that truly ignited my heart.
After years of dreaming about entrepreneurship and pajamas, my business partner, Mariela Rovito, and I gave birth to Eberjey - a sleepwear brand that celebrated comfort, beauty, and confidence, reflecting the very essence of my passions.
